Housefly lives in close association with man and is the most common species found throughout the world. They breed in decaying, fermenting or rotting organic matter. In Rural areas, breeding places are easily found around farms and houses in manure heaps and other places where organic matter has been dumped. A pyrethroid is an organic compound similar to the natural pyrethrins, which are produced by the flowers of pyrethrums (Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium and C. coccineum). Pyrethroids are used as commercial and household insecticides.
In household concentrations pyrethroids are generally harmless to humans. However, pyrethroids are toxic to beneficial insects such as bees, dragonflies, mayflies, gadflies, and some other invertebrates, including those that constitute the base of aquatic and terrestrial food webs. Pyrethroids are toxic to aquatic organisms including fish.
Dosage :
- Residual Surface Spray - 10ml of Shastra 2.5 F/1 Liter of water to cover 10 to 20 sqm area.
- Bed Net Impregnation - 1ml Shastra per square meter of net area. Frequency :
- Once in 3 months depending on the infestation level.
